Pages 11 & 12: Ensure there are gaps within the work area for traffic to enter and exit from both Jeffery Drive and Wood Sorrel Drive, as well as any other side streets where there are gaps in the painted median. It is unclear how the length of the Temporary Traffic Control Zone was calculated, however the extended Taper/Buffer appears longer than needed, which could allow the requested gaps without pushing the length out further. If you would like to reduce the Taper/Buffer length, use the Formula found with Table 6H-4(CA) (Pg. 1153, CA MUTCD) which is Length L of taper = Width Needed x Speed.
Based on the submitted TCP, it is assumed that at no time will the pedestrian path of travel be impeded or accessibility limited. If the pedestrian path of travel or accessibility is limited, contractor shall provide an alternative path of travel or pedestrian detour that is compliant with the latest edition of the CA MUTCD, as well as City of Modesto and ADA standards.
